Paul Kerr Statement on Kristin Gaspar proposal to join Trump lawsuit against California
March 30, 2018
San Diego, CA- Paul Kerr, a Vietnam-era Navy Veteran and Democratic candidate for Congress in CA-49, issued the following statement regarding San Diego County Supervisor and Congressional Candidate Kristin Gaspar's proposal that San Diego County join the Trump administration's lawsuit against the state of California and the California Values Act:
"Kristin Gaspar is showing her true colors, standing in lock step with Donald Trump's racist policies against the community she is supposed to represent. This lawsuit is not only anti-immigrant, it's anti-police, as it will keep victims and witnesses of crimes from reporting them to the police. If Gaspar had been open and honest about her extreme anti-immigrant agenda and support of Donald Trump's racist policies in her campaign for Supervisor, the voters would have soundly rejected her. She stands no chance in her campaign for Congress, as voters know better than to support someone who blindly supports Donald Trump."
Paul is a Vietnam-era, Navy Veteran who served on a destroyer out of San Diego that patrolled the coast of Vietnam shortly after that war ended. He's lived in San Diego County for over 43 years. Having worked his way through college, Paul is a proud alumnus of San Diego State University. For the past 20 years, Paul has been an owner of a very successful, San Diego-based, small business.
California's 49th Congressional District stretches from UCSD in the south, through northern, coastal San Diego County and Camp Pendleton to Orange County's Dana Point and Ladera Ranch in the north.
