May 9, 2018
San Diego, CA- Today, Orange County Professional Firefighters Local 3631 endorsed Paul Kerr for Congress in the 49th Congressional District.
Todd Baldridge, PAC Chairman of Local 3631, said, “Paul Kerr has a deep understanding of the issues important to Orange County Firefighters. We know Paul will have the backs of firefighters everywhere, and he’ll make an excellent member of Congress. We are proud to endorse his campaign.”
Paul Kerr accepted this endorsement by saying, “I am honored to have the support of Orange County Firefighters. These men and women put their lives on the line every day in order to keep us safe. When disaster strikes, first responders rush toward the danger to protect us all. I will always do everything I can to support firefighters and their families, who sacrifice so much for all of us.”
This is the second firefighters’ union that has endorsed Paul Kerr’s campaign for Congress. The San Diego City Firefighters previously endorsed Paul. Combined, the Orange County Firefighters and San Diego City Firefighters represent over 2,000 firefighters in southern California.
Paul is a Vietnam-era, Navy Veteran who served on a destroyer escort out of San Diego that patrolled the coast of Vietnam shortly after that war ended. He’s lived in San Diego County for over 43 years. Having worked his way through college, Paul is a proud alumnus of San Diego State University. For the past 20 years, Paul has been an owner of a very successful, San Diego-based, small business.
California’s 49th Congressional District stretches from UCSD in the south, through northern, coastal San Diego County and Camp Pendleton to Orange County’s Dana Point and Ladera Ranch in the north.
